Uniform

High profile is given to each child’s appearance.  All children are expected to wear school uniform and we are grateful for your support in this matter. The T-shirt, Sweatshirt, Cardigan and tie are available at Trutex Schoolwear in Newbury telephone 01635 38285.

Boys

Grey short/long trousers, royal blue sweatshirt; white shirt; grey socks;  sensible outdoor shoes, trainers for outdoor play plus a change of footwear for indoors; John Rankin tie.

Girls

Grey skirt or grey trousers (preferably straight legged, tailored trousers, not the stretchy bootleg type); white blouse plus John Rankin tie or white revered blouse; royal blue v-necked sweatshirt or sweatshirt cardigan; black or grey tights or white socks; sensible outdoor shoes plus a change of footwear for indoors, light blue check summer dress.

PE Kit

White shorts and t-shirt; plimsolls for indoor PE and trainers for outdoor PE.  Tracksuits may be worn for outside games in the colder weather.  Spare football kit should be brought in for playing football on the field at lunchtime.

Pupils coming from John Rankin Infant and Nursery school may continue to wear their uniform until they grow out of it.

Care

Please can you ensure that you clearly name all items of clothing.  It is a terrific help to school and makes it much easier to track down missing articles.

Jewellery

The only jewellery to be worn is a watch; pupils should not be wearing bracelets, ankle bracelets, rings etc.  The only earrings should be the stud type which will have to be removed or taped over for PE/Games with Micropore tape which they should keep in their PE bag.  Makeup, dyed hair, “extreme” haircuts, nail varnish and braids are NOT part of the school uniform and should not be worn.
